ZÜLLIG
Dissolved Oxygen Probe
The
ZÜLLIG D.O. sensor is a precision probe which provides fast
and accurate D.O. control for the needs of a modern process control
application. It operates without a membrane, which eliminates time
delays and wasted aeration costs caused by membrane fouling effects.
Even fats and oils do not limit its use. It uses a diamond grindstone
to continuously clean the heavy duty anode and cathode. Maintenance
is limited to very occasional adjustments to electrode tension,
reducing maintenance and drift. Mounting is normally at depth rather
than on the surface to ensure the most representative reading. Customers
consistently report faster more accurate control of D.O. with lower
O2/kg BOD removed and better plant performance.

Superior
DO Control with Zullig Probes Reduces Aeration Costs at STP's
Excellent
aeration control is essential for the efficient operation of a modern
Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).
The
real cost of inaccurate and varying DO measurement includes :
- wasted aeration power
- reduced nutrient removal efficiency
- poor effluent quality
- possible excessive chemical use for pH
and P removal

Simple
Method for the Demonstation of DO Membrane Fouling and it's Impact
on STP's
Fouling
of membranes in Membrane D.O. probes can be demonstrated using a
simple test. A D.O. sensor that reads low is likely to
cause over aeration of the wastewater and cost money.
